This is a gorgeous Victorian pendant crafted beautifully in 10 karat yellow gold. The pendant is wonderfully unique and just as elegant.
It has a beautiful array of eight, 1mm white seed pearls and a very pretty prong-set .05 carat ruby at the center.
For its size, it has a nice 3.7 gm weight.
A lavalier is named for the type of pendant popularized by the Duchesse de la Vallière, a mistress of King Louis XIV of France.
A small, prong set sawtooth pearl measuring 5mm by 3mm dangles from the bottom.
The pendant takes the most graceful, dreamy shape, embodying all of the quality and beauty of late 19th century design.
While the chain is not original to the pendant, both pieces are opulent 10 karat gold and have been professionally tested for purity.
The bale is impressed with a mark reading "10K."
These necklaces are so pretty and feminine. We really love this piece because it is dainty, but has weight to it. It is just lovely.
