This is an extraordinary antique pendant dating from the Victorian era and rendered in dazzling silver.
It is a wonderful size at 2-7/8" long and over 1" wide. It is very feminine, but big enough to make a statement.
At the center is an enormous flat teardrop-shaped freshwater blister pearl set in a demure, millegrained bezel.
An intricate open framework of scrolling, leafy ribbons surrounds this on the top and is set with several brilliant, paste rhinestones. Even the bale has two in-set rhinestones.
The pearl exhibits a small crack but is not structurally compromised and it certainly does not detract from the overall beauty of this piece.
The crack can not be felt when you run your fingernail over it, so it isn't very deep and won't be noticed when you wear it.
I was in our brick and mortar store today and opened the case of this necklace and just went over the top. I forgot how beautiful it is.
The largest rhinestone sits just below the pearl and is surrounded by a half-circle of smaller stones and culminates with a dangling tear-drop shape adorned with even more rhinestones.
Overall, the pendant shows expected antique wear, but it only adds to its charm and beauty.
The pictures can not do this justice. It is a beautiful, elegant and timeless piece. You will NOT be disappointed. Please notice the size. It is not a demure little piece, but is very feminine.
