This fantastic vintage West Coast Pottery planter is a must-have for you retro collectors.
West Coast Pottery was in business from approximately the 1940s to 1950s and, as you can, this big, beautiful planter has mid-century-style written all over it!
We wouldn't use this as a planter because it is just too stylish. It can hold any number of things and should be displayed.
As you can see, this fabulously colorful piece has great substance measuring over 11 inches long.
The planter features a stylized "shell" shape that features graceful wave-like swirls on each side.
A bird sits on the top of the "shell" and has a distinctly tropical look with luxuriously long tail feathers and a high flying crown.
You'll notice that the planter boasts a luscious green and purple ombré glaze with cool shades of aubergine and mint.
The glaze continues into the interior of the piece which gives it a really nice "finished" look.
There are a number of embossed marks on the underside of the piece, the first of which reads "West Coast Pottery, Cali USA". This is followed by the style number, "442".
With only two tiny brown spots on the side, this kicky planter remains in excellent vintage condition.
