As we all know, Glamour's other name is Eisenberg, and these fantastic vintage earrings are a "sparkling" example of the famed jewelry company's timeless contribution to the world of vintage fashion.
Like many design firms, the Eisenberg Company started making quality clothing in the 1940s; they would parlay this successful endeavor into a line of sensational costume jewelry.
The Eisenberg name would soon become synonymous with glamour, exemplifying elegance with their high quality materials and sophisticated designs.
These beauties are characterized by a thrilling array of round and marquise-cut rhinestones that seem to burst outward in a contained explosion of sparkle and shine.
As you can see, a "ribbon" of smaller round-cut rhinestone wraps languidly over the top of each earring, creating a truly elegant and distinctive look.
This "ribbon" design was a created by Eisenberg. Many other high-end costume jewelry makers copied this design in their pieces.
Eisenberg sued, but never prevailed.
Some of the rhinestones show a small amount of darkening from age.
The surrounding silver-tone metals are the perfect complement to the ethereal colorless rhinestones.
Classic hinge-clips make these fantastic earrings wonderfully comfortable to wear and easy to display.
You will find a mark reading "Eisenberg" in block-letter capitals on the reverse of each clip. This mark was put into use in the late 1940s.
Though the earrings show some very minor wear and a few light surface scratches, they remain in great vintage condition overall.
These are classic, so bring out your bling this spring!
