The Persol eyewear company was formed in Italy in 1917 by Giuseppe Ratti, and originally catered mainly to pilots and sports-drivers. Deriving from the Italian, the word "persol" translates literally as "for the sun".
The vintage sunglasses featured here include the company's trademark silver arrow, as well as the ever-timeless and ever-stylish tortoise color. The oblong lens makes these an ideal choice for any face shape, as well as an idyllic item of classic Italian fashion.
These are from the late 80's and show style number 198 and 130.
In excellent vintage condition, these shades are perfect for summer sun or winter wind. The sunglasses come in their original clam-shell case.
Persol is noted for comfort and style. They are consistently timeless and certainly, the vintage sunglasses are statement pieces. The lenses on Persol glasses are spectacular; and definitely our favorite. You will notice a huge difference in the visual and color in the lenses from other sunglasses.
Lenses are in near mint condition. There is an almost imperceptible scratch on the bottom of the left lens, but you really have to look closely to see it.
If you haven't owned a pair of Persol sunglasses, you've been missing out. The lens are wonderful and the glasses always have wonderful balance. They are consistently comfortable to wear.
