With a style that falls somewhere between Gidget and Mary Tyler Moore, this darling vintage hat is a fun and funky piece that's as wearable as it collectible.
As you can see, this super-mod hat is made of finely-stitched mohair in the most vibrant shade of aubergine-purple.
The hat has a big, tall rounded crown with a wide brim that flies upward. The front and back of the brim lie closer to the crown. The brim extends outward a bit more on the sides, making for a unique look.
Inside, the hat remains unlined as it is often unnecessary to include a lining in hats of such exceptional quality.
You will find two original fabric tags stitched to the interior of the hat; the first of these reads "Bloomingdale's". The accompanying designer's tag reads "Betmar". The final, smallest tag includes care instructions.
Betmar women's hats date back to 1933, and the company is named for the original top designer, Betty Marks.
Showing only the smallest touch of wear, this fantastic hat remains in outstanding vintage condition.
