This is a gorgeous and highly collectible cuff from Renoir.
The piece is in outstanding condition and represents the company's timeless contribution to mid-century costume jewelry.
As you can see, the cuff has a distinctly modernist appeal.
It features a band of overlapping coils that rest on the front while the back and surrounding areas remains highly reflective and smooth.
While the textural accents on the top and cuff feature Renoir's recognizable shiny copper finish, the area beneath the coiling decoration features a rich dark, almost-black color. This gives the design and applied accents an incredible look of depth and dimension.
Each end of the coil is riveted to the back of the cuff near the gap.
You will find the maker's mark stamped into the metal near the gap at the reverse; it reads "©Renoir".
This mark was the last used by Renoir and dates from the late 1950s to early 1960s.
Despite a few tiny flea bite scratches here and there and some other, minor expected wear, the cuff remains in very good vintage condition.
This piece has a distinct style that will expand and enhance your collection.
