This gorgeous vintage Karu brooch is absolutely covered with brilliant, clear rhinestones. The piece dates from the mid-1940s and just radiates elegance.
Karu was founded in 1940 by Kaufman and Ruderman in New York City in 1940. Incidentally, famed comedian Andy Kaufman was the founder, Stanley Kaufman's, oldest son.
The brooch features gorgeous marquise and round-cut rhinestones set into shiny silver toned metal. They form a snowflake or flower-like shape.
Five of the round cut rhinestones are set high above the larger stones, giving the brooch fantastic dimension.
A small oblong placard on the back of the brooch is stamped "Karu" in script. This mark was used from 1940 to 1954.
This brooch shows very little wear and remains in outstanding vintage condition.
We love wearing brooches like this one as a pendant on a chain or cord. Try it for a fun, updated look!
