This is an unusual yet lovely copper kettle that takes the shape of a bull.

It bears a deep, wonderful patina that covers most of the surface area that adds to the aged appeal this gives the piece.

The bull's body and tail are crafted in detailed copper while his head, the opening to the kettle, and the base are brass.

It has wonderful artistry and makes a great display item.

Though both metals are dark and worn, there is a distinguishable difference in the reddish hue of the copper and the golden-glow of the brass.

The origin of the kettle is unknown, though we might venture to guess that it is from India, Nepal, or another predominately Hindu country, where cows are revered as sacred animals.

True it is old and in fair antique condition, but this piece speaks to skilled artisanship and the roots of decorative art.
