Since its founding in 1910, the Trifari Jewelry Company has represented the utmost in quality and elegance.

The company hired Alfred Philippe in 1930 as their head designer; he would go on to revolutionize the Trifari aesthetic by introducing his patented Jelly Belly jewelry.

This is a signature Trifari Jelly Belly in the shape of sea turtle.

Featuring an enormous Lucite cabochon, the surrounding body of the turtle is gold vermeil over sterling silver surrounded by a number of beautiful ornamental clear rhinestones.

This little turtle's eyes are adorned with minuscule domed Lucite cabochons in light green.

The brooch is missing a rhinestone on the neck and left flipper, and exhibits some darkening and vermeil loss. It is in otherwise good vintage condition, having been manufactured in 1943.

You will have to look very closely at the brooch (as we did) to see the missing stones.

The "belly" is in really good condition. It is very clear with very little surface wear and no discernable scratches.

A number of hallmarks are clearly visible on the reverse and read "Sterling", the Crown symbol above the"Trifari"mark, and "Des . Pat . No . 135170".

Measurements:
Brooch: 2 ¼" long, 1 ½" wide, ¾" tall
Lucite cabochon: 1 ¼" long, 1" wide, 10 ½ mm tall
