In 1935 Louis Coblentz introduced a new line of "French handbags" to the American populous, with the grand opening of a flagship store in New York City. We're thrilled to offer this extraordinary vintage Coblentz clutch from that era.
It features a beautiful goldtone frame with extraordinary crosshatched detailing. The bag itself, comprised of luxurious black silk, folds in the middle, so that the frame faces downward.
This is a very unique and elegant style, typical of Coblentz design. You can see that the "Coblentz Original" printed hallmark is still clearly visible on the interior of the bag, also comprised of sumptuous black silk.
This handbag is very elegant. We love the shape of the fold over to allow you to hold it as a clutch.
There are minor tears around the bottom of the hinges from this being folded over into a clutch. The flaws are not noticeable when worn.
