We're head-over-heels in love with this precious vintage bubble-cloche hat. It has great character, big volume, and perfect plaid spring-time colors.
We are thrilled to say that the hat remains in outstanding condition and comes in its original cardboard box from Elmira, New York's famous department store, The Gorton Coy.
The mint-green box shows great 50's-style graphics and shows only some slight wear around the edges. You will see some light handwriting on the side of the box.
As you can see, the hat is made of wonderfully soft cotton and boasts a darling pattern of moss-green and white plaid.
The crown comes to a tall "bubble" while the upturned brim lies flat against the base.
A slightly darker-green knotted cord wraps around the hat above the brim and culminates in the front with two little tassels, both of which feature tiny green pom-poms.
Inside, the hat is lined with airy ecru satin. This is where you will find the original designer's fabric label which reads "Sally Viclor, Headlines".
Sally Victor starting manufacturing hats in 1924 and expanded into the highest end retail shops.
Showing almost no signs of age or wear, this sensational hat remains in excellent vintage condition.
