This rare and highly collectible antique bracelet is a vision of exemplary Victorian craftsmanship and style.
Two arms, each measuring 3 ½", radiate outward from a central hinge and are embellished with a pair of rope-hoops; the hinge is hidden underneath the bracelet's central, eye-catching brass panel. Ornately carved, this panel features three exquisite, genuine in-set opals.
The bracelet will fit almost any wrist size due to the hinge that allows easy adjustability. The piece exhibits some darkening, typical of an antique of its age. We think the patina adds to the character of the bracelet.
The inside measurement of the bracelet is 2 ½" by 1 ½" and the outside circumference measures 7 ½". The top panel containing the opals measures ¾" tall by ½" wide.
A stamp reading "PAT JAN" is clearly visible on the interior of the bracelet. The date marks are more worn and more difficult to read, but this does not detract from the piece in the least.
This is a really unusual and highly ornate bracelet and looks great on the wrist.
These style of bracelets are a little hard to find and they are all different with their own personalities.
We especially love the feminine adornment on a brass base. The contrast of the opals against the brass as well as the intricate, romantic styling, really make this bracelet a beautiful piece to add to any collectors vintage jewelry wardrobe.
