ca 1918 WJ Myatt Sterling Silver .925 Sterling Silver English Card Case 90 gms - image 1 of 5

This is a very ornate, detailed sterling card case with a beautifully etched floral pattern around a central shield shape.

It has over 90 gms of silver, in good condition, and with all of its original charm.

The shield on the front is un-engraved, so it can be personalized, if desired.

When they opened their first silver-smithing shop in 1902-1946 in Birmingham, England, the W. J. Myatt and Co. specialized in safety razors and razor blades.

They soon moved on to manufacturing fancy table goods.

This lovely card case is an excellent example of the company's highly stylized design.

The hallmarks on the inside are the .925 sterling lion, the anchor indicating made in Birmingham, the small letter "t" dates this piece to 1918.

There are some very minor surface scratches, but the case is in otherwise excellent condition.

We never polish vintage silver or metal items so the buyer can polish or not depending on their personal preference.

These cases do hold contemporary cards or credit cards. We love them for their age, design, and utility.

We especially love the ornate carving on the front of this piece.

This piece has a very impressive weight.

It has wonderful design, an unengraved crest, perfect construction, great condition, and is really amazing for being 93 years old. I want to have all of that at 93! (especially an unengraved chest.)

Obviously, this can be displayed with pride in your silver collection, but we vote for screaming style and use it for its original purpose.

It is gorgeous.

Measures 3.25" x 1.75" x .5" and weighs a very respectable 90.3 grams.
