This striking wind vane was mounted atop a barn cupola on Main Street in Tryingham, Massachusetts where it was a sight-seeing fixture for many years. Photo's and family names available to purchaser. Provenance we were supplied state the age at 1850 - 1860. It is in original surface, a striking weathered green verdigris patina. The head is cast zinc, body is molded and wrought hollow copper. Heavy cast metal heads provide a counter balance to move direction correctly with wind. Good estate condition with repairs to a few bullet holes, etc. Large size: 27" long, 17" H. with stand 14.5" without, 7" deep. Very full body! American origin, good authentic antique in excellent form, surface, color and condition. Stand included.
