This beautiful example stamped on both sides by the 19th Century Boston maker, "Harris" has additional rare features: Cast iron head, very large size and one of the most beautiful patinated surfaces we've come across in 30 years of dealing in weathervanes and authentic antiques. 36" long, 24" H (including stand, app. 24" without) app. 3" deep. Came off a mid-western barn, circa 1880. Good estate conditions with a few bullet hole repairs, etc. Verdigris patina with traces of original gilt. Hollow body form, beautiful form and folk art appearance. Collector grade antique of great beauty and rarity. The iron stand is included.
