Draft horses pulling "OVERLAND CIRCUS" band wagon with driver and six band members: 3 trumpet players and french horn players. Small stationary rubber wheels probably replaced, no riders on horses, small imperfections to paint, etc. Wagon mounted on 2 pairs of 8-spoke wheels. Lions' head and 2 harps embossed on each wagon-side. This toy appeared in a 1950 catalog for company. Great for folk art collectors and decorators as well as music memorabilia and circus collectors. Beautiful and authentic cast iron toy in very nice condition. 15.5" long, 7" height, 3.75" width. Appears to retain original paint with beautiful patina and typical wear and oxidation. Kenton first used the Overland Circus for a series of automotive toys from the mid 1920's, offering its first horse drawn vehicles in the 40's, when the company offered a polar bear in a cage wagon and a calliope.
