Rare Mid Century Teak Accent Chair. Marked "MM Moreddi Danmark" along with crown logo. Moreddi was a wholesale / import company started by the Frank brothers to bring Danish modern design to the United States. They worked with a number of Danish designers and sold the furniture in their Long Beach, California store Frank Bros. Also marked on the bottom with the Danish Control stamp representing high quality craftsmanship. This exquisite teak easy chair was designed by Erik Kollig Andersen and Palle Pedersen and likely fabricated by cabinetmaker Randers Møbelfabrik. Andersen and Pedersen hold a US patent from May 21, 1963 assigning half the design to Moreddi Inc of Long Beach, CA and the other half to Randers Møbelfabrik, Denmark. Beautiful wood inlaid design at the back of the chair connection. Unique leg configuration with a gently curved back leg. Very comfortable and sturdy. In excellent condition. The underside of the arms appears darker from hand oil build up. Reupholstered in black Skai leather. Circa 1963. Seat height 18.5".
