Ms. Peterson rose from humble beginnings in the Midwest, making her way to NYC to attend the Pratt Institute. She led an independent and adventurous life, traveling to London, Paris, Venice and Madrid to study with influential painters, culminating in her approach of combining techniques and styles. She also traveled with Louis Comfort Tiffany on a national painting expedition in his private railway car. Ms. Peterson became famous for a wide range of works, from landscapes to still lifes, blending impressionist and expressionist movements. She exhibited throughout the country.
