Lovely little sterling turtle / tortoise charm by Danish silversmith firm of Georg Jensen. The charms designed from this period are relatively simple and perfectly proportioned. The detail of the shell, the claws, and the under-shell is beautifully stylized. My favorite part of this charm is the perfect little tail. The charm is in very good condition and has a gorgeous patina.
Marked '925' on the bottom, with the lesser known GI monogram mark for Georg Jensen. Although this listing is for the turtle charm only, it is shown in the last photo next to another Georg Jensen charm with the same hallmark.
Measures approximately 5/8" long. Shown in the next-to-last photo with a nickel for scale.
