MYLU had dozens of Christmas tree pin designs, and this one is quite elegant. It is a nicely dimensional and gold-tone plated tree with seven dangling aurora borealis crystal beads to shimmer and catch the light. I have seen this tree decorated with either red or green olivine-colored beads. This listing is for the tree with the red dangle beads. I have one with the olivine beads listed separately.
This pretty pin has many of the features I associate MYLU: beautiful craftsmanship, frequent multi-part construction and/or moving parts, and excellent plating of gold-tone. This tree is In excellent condition.
The back is marked MYLU. One of the nice features of Mylu pins is that the pin mechanism is attached at both ends and not a separate light-weight riveted pin back. The rollover safety clasp pin mechanism is in fine working order.
Measures approximately 2 1/2” tall by 1 7/8” wide. Shown in the last photo next to a quarter for scale.
MYLU is my absolute favorite maker of Christmas jewelry. Established by Lynne Gordon and Marge Borofsky in the 1960s, MYLU was in business for a relatively short time. It became a division of Coro in 1968, and closed in the early 1970s.
