This is one of the smaller butterflies made in this shape / pattern by Scandinavian silversmith David Andersen. They were made in various jewel tones as well as multi-color patterns. This one is a beautiful shade of translucent GREEN enamel on a striated sterling ground. The enamel is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, or flakes. The antennae on this butterfly are also in perfect, undamaged condition. I almost always have several D-A butterflies and other D-A items in my shop, so if you're a fan please take a look!
The back is marked "D-A, 925S, and maker mark of scales" (all in boxes) and "Norway-Sterling". The sterling has a light gold wash / vermeil finish, and the back is tarnished. It has a rollover safety clasp in good working condition.
Measures approximately 1 1/4" wide by 3/4" tall. In the last photo it is shown next to a quarter for scale.
