This is a B&K vintage souvenir charm of a Scottie dog, which I am certain is Fala, the Scottish Terrier who belonged to U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Fala is one of the most famous presidential pets, living from 1940 to 1952. B&K is known for charms featuring historical landmarks and popular tourist attractions, but not for generic items of interest, which is why this Scotty charm is most likely very specific - during the time period when this charm was made, Fala was so beloved that anyone exposed to the media would have known him by name! As a collector of dog charms, I just love the charm for its depiction of Scottish Terriers. This is one of the harder-to-find B&K charms.
The charm is the round scallop-edged disc shape, one of the several distinctive shapes that make the Bates & Klinke charms so easy to recognize.
Marked sterling on the back with a crisp maker's mark for B&K. In good vintage condition with a nice patina and minor tarnish.
Measures approximately 5/8" across. In the last photo it is shown next to a dime for scale.
