This Peter Rabbit bunny rabbit in a watering can charm is from the now-retired Beatrix Potter collection made by Hand & Hammer (H&H) Silversmiths in the 1990s. It's beautifully molded with great proportions and detail. Check out the holes in the spout of the watering can! And Peter's little paws! It's a somewhat hard-to-find charm of lovely quality. H&H made more than twenty charms for the Beatrix Potter collection, so you'll have plenty more to seek for your collection, although the majority of them are very hard to find. The silver on this charm has a darkened patina with some original oxidation to accentuate the detail. The charm is in overall excellent condition.
The charm is marked for sterling on the hang tag, which has STG and an 'H' in an oval on one side, one of the Hand & Hammer maker marks. The other side of the tag is marked 'FW CO', for Frederick Warne & Company, Miss Potter's publisher. Upon her death she left the rights to all her works to Frederick Warne & Co (now owned by Penguin), and they granted H&H a license to make this charm series.
The charm measures 7/8" tall by 7/8" wide excluding the shank. In the last photo the charm is shown next to a dime for scale. The charm is relatively heavy.
