I think of this heart as symbolizing weddings and matrimony. It features a man and a woman clasping hands above a single heart, and the design is further accentuated by the pretty repousse border of fronds and beading. I call it a wedding heart because of the detail of the sleeves: what is very much a man's cuff on the left, and on the right what looks like the edge of a woman's lovely bell-shaped sleeve on a wedding gown like those from the earlier decades of the 1900's. I can picture the bride and groom standing at the alter holding hands just like this as they're being married!
The back is marked sterling, and has been etched with the name 'Kathleen' in amateur script. With no dings or dents it's in very good condition.
Measures a tad taller and wider than 5/8". While still 'average size', this particular heart is at the slightly larger end of the 'average puffy heart size' spectrum. Most puffy hearts measure a tad less than 5/8" tall by 9/16" wide.
