From the early 1900s, this is a fabulous German art nouveau charm featuring Cupid and Psyche engaged in a game of "Guess who?", or at least that is how I interpret "Wer bin ich?", which in English translates to "Who am I?". "Who am I?" was a popular children's game in Germany. The design is crisp and the silver has a wonderful patina, especially lovely in the recessed hearts that adorn the top of the charm.
This charm came from a charm bracelet comprised of one quality charm after another. Most were marked sterling, and while this one is unmarked for silver content, I have seen this charm marked 800 silver, and am certain that this one is as well. The charm is in excellent antique condition with the exception of a thinning of the bale, which can be fortified by your jeweler if desired, and is priced accordingly.
Measures 15/16" tall by 5/8" wide, and weighs 3.2 grams.
