David Andersen Sterling Green Enameled Double Leaf Brooch Vintage Norway
Offering this iconic gilt sterling silver brooch with two jewel toned green enameled leaves. The enamel work is superior quality and the leaves are arched in opposite directions for a wonderfully graceful effect when worn. I’ve styled it on a bandana for a lovely pop of color.
MATERIAL Sterling silver with a gold wash
SIZE Measures just over 1.5 inches wide and about 1 inch tall. Weighs 4.7 grams.
MARKS Fully hallmarked D A 925S Sterling Norway with the scale logo in a circle and a W in a circle. This is the hallmark of David Andersen company founded in 1876 in Oslo, Norway and still a family run business today. David's son, Arthur took over the company in 1901 and introduced the use of enameling which was highly successful. The W in a circle is the mark of Willy Winnaess, a top designer for the company during the 1950s.
AGE 1950s to 1960s
CONDITION: Enameling is in excellent condition. There is very minor gold loss on the sterling silver visible using a loupe. C clasp closure in working condition. Excellent, vintage condition.
