Antique 15ct Gold Coral Ring Victorian
Offering this beautiful antique five corals ring set in 15 ct yellow gold. The corals are prong set in an organic reef like design. The shoulders resemble little owls but truly every angle of this ring has loving attention to detail. Low profile makes this easy to wear and stack with other rings.
As the color of the coral can vary depending on the light source, the photo that best represents the true color is the last one in the ring box taken outdoors in natural light. It is a warm, orange red with slight variations in the five corals. This is a fine, unique Victorian ring sure to become a treasured part of your collection.

AGE Mid to late Victorian period 1860s to 1890s
SYMBOLISM or HISTORY Coral has long been thought of as a protective stone and was traditionally gifted to babies and children in some form. Coral is an organic gemstone, made of calcium carbonate secreted by polyps that are crammed together and create reefs, mostly found in tropical oceans. Today, the coral reefs are in danger from pollution and over fishing. So antique and vintage coral jewelry is a greener choice and the best way to get natural coral as most of the new coral jewelry is made with artificial stones.
CONDITION The corals are in amazing condition for its age, very little if any wear can be seen with a loupe. Warm patina on the gold. The last two photos are taken outdoors in natural light with no filter. Excellent, antique condition.
