SYMBOLISM or HISTORY The palm tree is a symbol of victory, longevity and peace. The date palm is associated with Christian traditions. Taxco, Mexico has been a major producer of beautiful, quality sterling silver jewelry since the late 1930s. By the 1960s, there were over 400 silver shops and hundreds of skilled silversmiths creating interesting silver works of art for the tourist trade.
CONDITION Difficult to photograph the shiny surface of this ring, it has normal surface scratches consistent with silver jewelry that has been worn and loved. The abalone inlay is in very good condition with only two sections comprising the palm tree. One of the coconuts has a chip in the green onyx but it is a small design element and not noticeable. Softened patina on the silver. Most photos shown in natural indoor light and the last photo is taken outdoors. Excellent, vintage condition.
