This jewelry piece was designed from a photo of the great Russian ballerina, Natalia Makarova, performing in the ballet, "Other Dances". It is one of several designs originally made of 18k gold, platinum and diamonds. Miss Makarova is the owner of these pieces. I have used my original mold to create this beautiful pendant in rhodium finish on Britannia, with an 18 inch chain of rhodium finish on brass. Rhodium is the same precious metal used to plate white gold jewelry to give it a special, bright silver finish, and Britannia is lead-free pewter. The dancer is in a round frame approximately 1 1/8 inch diameter and 1/8 inch deep and is beautifully sculpted on front and back. The open pose expresses the joy of dancing. The piece was designed to convey an experience of the wonder of dance. My hallmark is on the back.
