This jewelry piece was designed from a photo of the great Russian ballerina, Natalia Makarova, performing in the ballet, "Other Dances". It is one of several designs originally made of 18k gold, platinum and diamonds. Miss Makarova is the owner of these pieces. I have used my original mold to create this beautiful piece in rhodium finish on Britannia, with a chain of rhodium finish on brass. Rhodium is the same precious metal used to plate white gold jewelry to give it a special, bright silver finish, and Britannia is lead-free pewter. The dancer pendant is approximately 1 3/4 inches high and 7/8 inch wide and is beautifully sculpted on front and back in the "attitude" ballet position, including the details of a lovely flowing dress and scarf. The face of the dancer and the open pose express the joy of dancing. The piece was designed to convey an experience of the wonder of dance. My hallmark is on the back.
