This sweet little piece measures just 21" tall, 24" wide and 8 1/2" deep.

The pine case is dovetailed with later bracket feet. The 3 over 5 over 5 drawers are dovetailed at the front and nailed at the back with chamfered bottoms. The nails are 19th Century cut nails.

Upon close investigation this piece has had a number of lives. The carcass, with through dovetail construction, is likely early 19th Century. The bracket feet were added later and the drawers were likely added at that time - we believe in the late 1800's judging by the construction, and nails. The dovetail work is crude but the drawer fronts were cut from a single board and matched for grain pattern, suggesting a country cabinet maker.

We found the piece with a poor surface and had it professionally refinished. We found traces of early paint suggesting it was painted early on, then stripped and refinished when the feet and replacement drawers were made.

Structurally the piece is in excellent condition.
