This wonderful whirligig came out of a Vermont collection and depicts a banjo player and two dancers being watched by a bearded man on horseback. A good breeze has the banjo player strumming and the two dancers dancing.
It measures 34" long and 15" at its tallest. It is displayed on a make-do metal stand
It is made from carved wood and fiber board (horse) with metal fittings. The surface is original with red, blue, yellow, white and black paint.
There is some minor paint loss consistent with age.
This is the first half of the 20th Century Folk Art at its best.
