Lucky 7! …
Made up of seven identical, sterling silver bangles—banded together by a silver brace—the traditional, Mexican semanario bracelet represents the seven days of the week and is believed to offer good fortune to its wearer all week long! This fine example—handcrafted by a Taxco silversmith in the 1980's—boasts a semanario with a sleek, minimalist design. Here, the seven circular bangles making up the bracelet have been forged in a symmetrically, square-edged form, imbuing them with a cleanly refined, yet chic modernist flair. A splendid, vintage piece of Mexican folk culture—fabulously fun and kinetic on the wrist—it makes for an attention-getting adornment perfect for both women and men.
HALLMARKS: MEXICO, 925, T-? (unreadable Taxco silver registration maker mark). DIMENSIONS: Inner circumference measures approximately 7-1/2" and inner diameter is approximately 2-1/2". The entire semanario measures approximately 3/8" wide. WEIGHT: 25.9 grams. CONDITION: Excellent to superior vintage condition―no noticeable signs of wear and all the bangles are in-round.
