Charming, with a naif quality, this pin/pendant depicts a traditional Mexican man wearing a serape and sombrero. The workmanship and skill of the enamellist is considerable: five colors of enamel, well demarcated with Sterling channels, form the cute fellow’s clothes and face. The bright red serape contrasts beautifully with his turquoise shirt and brown pants. His flesh colored face is marked with black dots of enamel for nose and eyes, topped by a white hat. Visually arresting! This sweetie is signed HWH, in a circle, Sterling, Handmade. I am not familiar with this silver artist but this pin is clearly well-designed and skillfully made. It measures 1 5/8 inches long and 7/8 of an inch wide; as noted, it can also be worn as a pendant – the bale is generous and sturdy. The condition is excellent. You’ll be admired with this distinctive lovely! $75.00
