This classic Trifari beauty was designed by Alfred Philippe in 1953 and given patent number 170, 214 on August 18 of that year. It was part of the 'Flirtation' collection and parts of that collection were featured in COSTUME JEWELRY 202, 2nd Edition, page 253, by Julia Carroll. The pin features five 'halo' flowers – each flower has a center marquis stone, surrounded by a halo of smaller marquis, square, and round cut stones. Stunning! Baguette rhinestones adorn the flowing goldtone 'ribbons'. The setting is both goldtone and silver tone Trifanium – the flowers are set in silver tone and the remainder of the brooch is goldtone. The reverse is signed Trifari, with a crown over the 'T', and Pat. Pend. Well-made, the silver tone flower section is riveted to the goldtone ribbon section. This elegant charmer measures 2 3/8 inches long and one and three-quarter inches wide. The condition is very good; all rhinestones sparkle and there is minor wear to the goldtone. The clasp works well. You'll love wearing this magnificent brooch by one of the greatest designers of 20th century costume jewelry. Enjoy! $240.00
