Well-made and visually arresting, this Sterling silver pin depicts what I think is an orchid with a flowing curved leaf and stem. The orchid is in bloom and sports a bezel set oval light purple amethyst at the top of the brooch. The pin is marked Sterling in two places on the reverse. Stylistically, it has Art Nouveau elements and I think it likely dates to the 1940s. This beauty measures two and three-quarter inches long, 1 ½ inches wide, and weighs a substantial 17.6g.
