This is a magnificent unsigned Schreiner brooch that mesmerizes with its unusual design and color palette. As many of you know, Schreiner jewelry was frequently unsigned but can be identified by distinctive specialty stones and construction techniques. This beauty features hook and eye construction, a crimped stone cup or cupcake setting for the larger oval center stone, dog tooth prongs, and a teardrop shaped swirled art glass stone. I have also seen this specialty stone referred to as a pear-shaped dollop and one sees them frequently on Schreiner items. The green, topaz, and cognac navettes that surround the center oval stone are set open backed, as is the oval stone. Three metal cupped floral stones adorn the ‘stem’ of the brooch; one is set with a large faceted blue aurora borealis bead, one is the previously mentioned ‘dollop’ stone, and one is a prong set clear rhinestone blossom. Stunningly dimensional! The setting is an antiqued bronze and the condition is excellent. This classic Schreiner measures 2 1/4 inches long and wide. You’ll enjoy this fabulous brooch by one of the premier jewelers of the 20th century. $425.00
