Beautifully designed and handcrafted, this Mings of Honolulu Hibiscus brooch is a spectacular work of art. The petals have a three-dimensional sculptural quality. Mings, founded in 1941 by Wook Moon in Honolulu, is recognized by collectors worldwide for their high quality workmanship; indeed it was known as the ‘Tiffany of the Pacific’. This pin was part of a series they made featuring the flowers of Hawaii. Unfortunately, Mings went out of business in 1999 and their pieces have become very hard to find. This pin, with its curved graceful leaves, is signed Sterling, but the Mings mark on the opposite leaf is almost completely unreadable. It is, however, a verified Mings brooch. This beauty measures 2 ¼ inches long, nearly 1 and three-quarter inches wide, and is in excellent condition. It weighs a substantial 16.27g and has a lovely aged patina. Special and distinctive, this is a must-have for any jewelry collection. $179.00
