This is a fabulous pair of Flamenco/Latin dancer pins created by a Mexican silversmith in the 1930s or 1940s. Dynamic in design and quite evocative of movement, you can almost hear the tapping of the shoes when viewing them. The pins are beautifully hand cast with great detail – the flounces on the señorita’s skirt and the designs on the señor’s trousers bespeaks quality workmanship and innovative design. The señorita holds two bezel set turquoise cabochons – her castanets – and the señor holds one aloft. Both are signed only ‘Made in Mexico’ but they acid test as Sterling silver. This mark helps us date them to prior to 1948. Señor measures one and three-quarter inches long and 1 inch wide; Señorita measures 1 5/8 inches long and 1 ¼ inches wide. Together they weigh 15.5g and are in excellent condition. Frequently these pins were separated over the years, so it is special to find an intact pair. You’ll smile just wearing this dynamic duo – Enjoy! $119.00
