When you think of Escada, you often think of quality material and lovely designs and here is a beautiful 1990s 2pc. suit that exhibits both of those elements so well! Made from soft creamy Winter White wool and silk blend, this suit has so many marvelous details including the exquisite floral cross stitch (silk thread) that adorns the wide lapels and at the bottom of each of the long sleeves. To say nothing of the beautiful cartouche on the back of the suit jacket! The colors used in the stitchery are bright pink, green, blue and yellow and those colors are repeated in the lines that divide the Winter White wool fabric into rectangles….lots of them, to be exact and lines perfectly matched! The jacket is fitted and has Princess seams on both the front and back. There are non- functional welt slit pockets on each side of the front of the jacket, too. And, the front of the jacket closes with two round Mother of Pearl buttons. There are four non-functioning Mother of Pearl buttons at the bottom of each sleeve. The shoulders are moderately padded and the suit jacket is completely lined with creamy white rayon that bears the double “E” Escada logo. As for the snug fitting straight skirt, it’s short and above the knees and made from the same wool material as the jacket. It closes at the back with a white plastic zipper and has a round Mother of Pearl button at the top of this zipper as well as a clear round plastic button on the inner waistband that cannot be seen from the outside of the skirt. There are two hanger loops on the inside of the skirt and there is a small pleat opening at the hemline at the back of the skirt. The skirt has a white rayon lining and there is an extra Mother of Pearl button attached to the tag in the inner waistband of the skirt. All inner seams are nicely finished (overlock). This fabulous 90s Escada suit is so classy, but yet at the same time, it does exude a certain seductive charm and appeal!
