This is an early version of the Bicentennial of Flight necktie designed by Topflight Products and Ralph Marlin in 1989. Several later versions have been made of this same design under the Marlin label but this is an early polyester tie made in the U. S. A. The printed part of this wonderful vintage necktie includes beautiful graphics of many different types of aircraft including a Lear Jet, an Ultralight, the Concord, a Piper Cub, the Spirit of St. Louis and even a colorful French Hot Air Balloon from the 1800s. The small blade of the tie is deep Sky Blue polyester material and the printed front of the tie includes many vibrant colors such as orange, red, tan, purple, gray and, of course, various shades of blue. The large blade is lined in cream colored polyester that’s made to resemble silk. This great vintage 1980s Ralph Marlin design necktie is sure to delight anyone who is fascinated with flight or airplanes and aircraft.
