This long vintage Vera silk scarf is a powerful statement of both color and design. With a background of white silk, the focal point of the brilliant display of rays seems to be a single purple flower in a circle of deeper purple surrounded by shades of red, deeply intense pink and light and dark purple. The hems are hand rolled and are purple for more contrast and at the bottom of the scarf tucked in the corner, the iconic Vera signature along with the copyright symbol is woven into the silk in deep pink. This scarf is such a unique and unusual Vera design and the combination of colors are just amazing. Another of Vera Maxwell’s very special scarf creations!
Condition: Very Good
When viewing the photos of the half of the scarf that displays the Vera signature, there appears to be significant spots of soil in the light purple lines. The lighting and my camera have made this look more evident than it really appears when actually viewing the scarf. There is some very faint soiling on this area of the scarf, but not nearly as noticeable as they appear to be in the photos. There is a small impression mark in the silk on the other side near the bottom in the area of the rolled hem and a tiny pin hole near this same bottom corner. Other than these very slight issues, this vintage Vera gem is in very good condition.
Vera signature is woven into the silk and the tag sewn onto the scarf reads: scarves by Vera, all silk-handrolled made in the U. S. A.
