Here's a hat that is so flattering to most anyone. Made from a lovely forest green wool, this hat is classy and sharp! The turned up brim (which is wired all the way round) exudes charm and the striking combination of feathers give just the right detail. And, speaking of feathers, this hat sports one feather that has been gilded with a small cluster of shimmering peacock feathers for good measure. The crown is rounded and encircled by a wide matching green grosgrain ribbon outer hatband. The interior of the hat is unlined and there is an inner black grosgrain ribbon hatband. The combination of green and gold is always noteworthy. Another classic design by the famous Mr. John!
Condition: Very Good
The only thing to note is that the long gilded feather has one place that the paint has broken open a small bit. Bear in mind that the feather is not broken, but only a small place in the gold paint! I have photographed this so that you can see that this is a slight issue and most likely can be repaired with a small amount of adhesive, but I will leave that up to the new owner of this fine hat.
