Coin jewelry remains to this day a popular motif for jewelry designs. Although genuine currency was often used for jewelry, the coins used for this brooch are just replicas. The larger coin used for the centerpiece appears to be Roman and I'm not sure the origins of the five smaller coins which are dangling from the larger one. The back of the largest coin displays a different design than the one that is on the front. The entire brooch is plated with Russian gold plate over brass characteristic of Haskell's jewelry. The dangling coins make a nice jingle jangle sound, too! A brooch which draws on antiquity for it's theme.

Condition: Very Good

The brooch has minor surface scratches on the larger coin....very minor. There is some minor wear on the jump rings that hold the smaller coins. The gold plating has a nice vintage patina. The catch is secure.
