This sweet little hat from the 1960's definitely draws upon the styles of the 1920's......very reminiscent of those popular cloche hats from that era! The body of this hat is made by Martelle and is imported ivory colored soft fur felt from West Germany. The crown is tall and rounded and the brim is short in the front and even shorter at the base of the hat. The smart mellow yellow bow detail on the front of the hat appears to go through the fur felt, but actually does not. The ends of the grosgrain bow are feathered for additional detail. The brim is not wired, but it is top stitched. Leave it to Mr. John to give that little added pizzazz.....even where most would not see.....the inner grosgrain hatband is a striking emerald green! This hat is extremely comfortable to wear and if you are trying to achieve a 1920's look without having to have the real deal.....this hat is for you! Or, if you just want a fine quality hat to keep your head nice and warm on a chilly day....this hat is stylin'!!!
Condition: Very Good to Excellent
This hat is exceptionally clean and well cared for. There is one area on the back of the hat that appears to be a slight linear depression in the fur felt material.....could have been there from the time it was made, but may have come from something pressing on the felt. This does not in any way mar this nice hat.....but, please look at the photos of the back of the hat to see this issue.
