Offered here for sale is a very detailed sterling silver brooch of Scotland’s official flower, the Thistle. This 1960s die struck pin is made by Lang and has a locking C-Clasp catch. This brooch is somewhat small in size but big on how beautifully it was depicted with it’s swirling leaves and lovely Thistle blossom. It will look so nice on your lapel and can be worn by anyone who especially likes to display their Scottish heritage.
Condition: Very Good
On the underside of the Thistle blossom there are some darker areas of patina. These are really intensified by my photos. The Thistle has so much detailing that it would be difficult to polish out all of the darker areas. On the front side of the pin, the patina gives the pin a richness and depth that would not exist if the pin had been dipped in a silver cleaner. I usually only polish sterling silver with a polishing cloth and don’t use liquid cleaners and never pumice. The stick pin on the C-Clasp is darker and may possibly have been replaced. I am not sure of that, but want to call it to your attention. It does in no way affect the wearability of this fine Lang 60s brooch.
The brooch has an attached sterling rectangle on the underside of the Thistle that reads: Sterling Lang
