Here is a beautifully made vintage 1950s silk blouse made by Sandra Blouse that exhibits quality all the way around. The silk that the blouse is made from is a blush beige color. The sleeves are short and the neckline is rounded with nice detailing. The blouse is fitted front and back and when it’s tucked into a skirt or slacks there will be a slight blouson effect. At the back of the blouse there are five clear small round buttons that when closed are completed hidden by fabric. There is a small metal snap at the top of this row of buttons at the neckline. I believe there were once small removable shoulder pads in each shoulder as there is evidence of snaps that probably held the pads in place. A former owner must have removed the pads as they are no longer with the blouse. All inner seems are completely finished with no raw edges visible with the exception of where the lace insert is sewn into the bodice of the blouse. The lace insert on the inside does show raw edges. And, speaking of that stunning lace insert, it is machine made embroidered net lace. This lace may be sometimes referred to as illusion lace and it is truly the focal point of this lovely blouse. This vintage 1950s blouse will go with just about anything as the color is somewhat neutral.
Condition: Very Good
This blouse is missing the shoulder pads as previously mentioned in the description. They were not cut out, but unsnapped and apparently never replaced. The blouse is extremely clean and well kept and shows very little wear. On the left upper side of the lace insert there is a tiny and faint spot on the lace. It will probably never be noticed by anyone when the blouse is being worn.
