Here’s a 1970s mens Lord West Formal Dinner Jacket made from a silk blend midnight blue brocade fabric. The jacket has peak lapels ( upper section is made of the brocade material and the lower half is made from black satin material). There are flap pockets on each side of the front of the jacket that are placed on the jacket at a slight angle. The flaps are made from brocade and there is a black satin trim at the top of each pocket. Although the stitches that closed these pocket openings have never been removed, you certainly could remove them allowing you to tuck the flaps inside for a bit more formal look. There is a welted breast pocket on the upper left side of the front of the jacket. The jacket closes with three small round plastic buttons. At the bottom of each cuff there is the same small round black button that is purely for detail and is not functional. There is a center vent at the back of the coat. The jacket is fully lined with black rayon material and there is an inner slit breast pocket on the upper right side.
Condition: Very Good
The only issue with this vintage formal jacket is very minute, but I’ll mention it regardless. When you look at the jacket in the photos, you will see a small light dot on the upper right sleeve near the shoulder. This appears much more apparent in the photos than it actually does when you are looking at the jacket in person. It’s so faint, I doubt that anyone will notice this when the jacket is being worn. Something about the lighting intensified this issue and made it look much more than what it really is. Sorry about that!
