A number of years ago, I purchased two lovely mannequin heads directly from North Carolina artist, Marge Crunkleton. This mannequin was made from a plaster casting instead of resin and was custom painted by Marge. She is modeled after a 1950s store mannequin made in the 2000s that is perfect for displaying vintage hats, scarves and necklaces. Marge named this mannequin, “Liz”. She has short copper brown hair, blue eyes and pink lips. I requested that Marge sign the bottom of this mannequin and as you can see from the photos, she did. Marge cast her mannequins from old store mannequins and often the original crazing and issues that these mannequins had appear in her castings. Liz is a charming display mannequin.
Condition: Very Good
This mannequin looks essentially just like it did the day I received it from the artist. There are some crazing marks on the left side of the mannequin’s neck that probably were on the mannequin used for Liz’s casting and are not due to damage. These areas, as well as several other issues that occurred in the plaster during the casting process can be seen in the photos. And, keep in mind that these mannequins are hand painted, so there may be slight variations in the painting. If you have any questions regarding condition, please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to answer.
